A recent Wa Ako future-focus session included a visit from the Citizens Advice Bureau. The workshop covered a range of interesting topics from buying a car, budgeting and employment rights. The CAB exists to support citizens to know their rights and provide a free and confidential service. For full information check out their website, but some of the following links were directly referenced in the presentation and could be useful:
- Employment – make sure you know your rights – ensure you have an employment agreement. This sets out your pay, conditions, rights and duties. Talk to CAB if you need help with this.
- Buying a car – use the auto check services like motor web and lemon check. Furthermore, ‘Fit for the Road’ is a resource from Consumer Affairs which covers all aspects of the process of buying a car.
- Tenancy – Flatting 101 is a useful resource, and general tenancy advice can be found here. Make sure you are well-informed before you sign any agreement.
