In 2016, teaching and learning in all classes will involve using student devices. This has come after a successful trial with Year 9 in 2015 where devices were shown to enhance the learning outcomes of students across the curriculum.
From the E-Learning page of the School Website:
The world we live in today requires new ways of thinking, working and living. Young people need to be familiar with and use the latest technology at school to equip them for this new world. We are preparing students to be the next generation of creators, inventors, makers and doers.
The modern workforce requires more collaboration, creativity and connectedness than ever before. Bringing your own device (BYOD) allows the teaching and learning to move towards students being at the centre of their learning both at school and at home. Students with devices are better able to explore learning through researching, sharing, publishing, problem-solving and creating new knowledge.
All Y12 students are expected to bring a device for their learning in 2016. The school website has a page advertising recommended devices that have been selected for their suitability for day-to-day use at school. Should you chose to bring a different device, this page outlining the requirements will act as a useful checklist. Should you need any further information, please contact us through the usual channels.
