Recently, the NCEA Drama classes of Newlands College were lucky enough to experience the masterpiece that was ‘The Brave’. Eight men took to the stage to show us students some creative and effective drama techniques that our class found inspiring and gave us ideas to use in our own performances. The play was rich with meaning, so it gave us a lot to work with for the assessments that relate to it.
“I thought it was good” said Monique, “and it was really sad”. Monique wasn’t the only student who felt this about the touching performance. The personal element meant it was packed with raw emotion and was incredibly honest; you could see this in the actors’ expressions and the bond between the cast which underlined the theme of brotherhood. We loved ‘The Brave’ so much and recommended it to all our family and friends. We would also recommend any future productions by the Massive Theatre Company – you won’t be disappointed!
