NCEA Assembly

Today in a special Year 11 Assembly, an introduction to NCEA was presented. Mr South, as the Principal’s Nominee who is the key link between the school and the NZ Qualifications Authority, and Mr Pegram, Deputy Principal in charge of the curriculum, spoke about some important matters. Vital information can be found by reading through the Internal Assessment Procedures, as well as other useful resources in the curriculum section of the school website.

It is worth noting, as Mr Pegram reminded the cohort, that subjects in Level 2 have entry requirements. These can be found in the Subject Choice handbook. Prerequisites must be met in order to continue a course of study in Year 12. He also made the point strongly that all this information is bound to produce lots of questions. The onus is now on the students to ask these questions to their teachers and use the open door policy of the guidance team in order to ensure that everything is understood that needs to be for a successful year of NCEA.
